Broadband Employees

Valerie Fast Horse - Director of IT. Valerie has worked for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe IT Department since 1999.  In addition to Broadband, Valerie oversees the operations of two other ITPrograms:  Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and IT Government Services.  The IT Department has 15 full-time staff total.

Tom Jones - Broadband Operations Manager. Tom brings to this department 30+ years of computer and technology management experience.  Tom has managed, started and engineered Internet Service Providers in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming since 1994.

Bill Weems – Network Technician 1. Bill is an entry level technician and is new to the networking Internet/Intranet industry.

Although the Broadband Department operates mostly during regular business hours, the Operations Manager (Tom Jones) and network technician Bill Weems are on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week (every day).  It is essential to keep the network running.  If an essential part of the network goes down at 2 AM any day of the week, it must be brought back into service.  The same type of 24x7 reliability you expect from your phone or electrical utility is the same reliability the Broadband Operations department will drive to provide.
